MaxData Artist PC P3-800MHz

(c) b3ta

10th November 2000 - 12th August 2004

R.I.P.

_______________________________________________________

Dear Comrades, Grail Seekers, Forumistos and Forumistas!

I'm writing to you from my flatmate's iBook.

My good old MaxData is no more. He died early this morning after a series of short and painless electro-strokes. microsoft

He took my HD with 3 years worth of emails, university files, personal data, photographs and GIFs with him.

Over 9'700 emails are gone forever...

I cannot describe how I feel right now. But it comes close to the feeling you get seconds before some bastard with acute encephalitis blasts your guts out with a 122mm bowel-disruptor.

I cannot afford to buy a new PC right now. Please bear with me and understand that I'll be away from this forum and my blog for several weeks.

Take care, my beloved fluffy forum weasels... I shall dearly miss you all...  Crying or Very sad

Love,

~ Suzanne

So sorry to hear this news Suzanne. I know the feeling.

I hope something can be done for you. Surely you have a stalker out there that would give you a computer.

We'll miss you... Hope you can find a good internet cafe or something Rolling Eyes .

Holy crap.

How dead is dead?

I'm sure between us we know some kind of John Edward type PC mystic who can retrieve some of that lost data from the other side...

Where there any last words?

MWAH!

Thanks to all of you for your encouraging comments / emails / sms concerning my pc disaster!

I'm finally back with a new super-cooling feng shui power supply, a 80 + 30 GB hd and.. uhmm... a 4x DVD-/+R

Looks like my power supply didn't cool the pc anymore so that the hd overheated. By connecting my hd to my brother's motherboard we could boot normally and save quite some files and settings.

I can now even bake almond poppy seed cakes in my pc.

Weeeeee! :jump:

Yep, it's another virus.  Rolling Eyes

This time it attacked the network settings and destroyed all communication between my ethernet adapter and router. Great! rage

Support won't be here until the end of November, so I guess I will die of Offlinitis - slowly, painfully and all alone...

Thee Temple ov Psychick Blah, Flickr and my worklog won't be updated during the following weeks.

Please also allow me several days to reply to your emails -  I'm not in a position to check my emails daily.

I'm gonna miss you...  rain

Shocked

 ambulance  !!!

Rolling Eyes

- - /smart-assing start/ - -

For stante pede elimination of virusses [although they are cute under the microscope]

For system cloning [= Eternal life guaranteed, as long as the motherboard is not replaced. And if your HD crashes again, you reinstall the whole brain and the nervous system by - more or less - one click]

For external data backup [After a MCA with over 9000 dead e-mails the copies take the place of the deceased like body-snatchers, and no one will ever notice of the mailocide.]

- - /smart-assing end/ - -

Yeah, call me smart-ass, I like it. I'm sure, as Webmistress ov Doom you already have all the specialized knowledge of this all. But that's just why I wonder how all the hardship described in this thread could happen at all.

 Shocked / Rolling Eyes

Be assured of the compassionate conservativism (Dubyah) of us all and see you soon on the Internet, Her Highness.

Yaaaaaaaay! Hello & welcome to this magick forum, my dear Magoth! prozac

Thanks for your support, but the main problem is that I cannot perform any system checks since I cannot go online at all. My router stopped the automatic IP-updating, i.e. I cannot use all those links...  Rolling Eyes

I'm writing this from a public university pc.
