Believe me, you don't want to know. But the fact that (our dear leader) Warren Ellis has posted that picture as "Thought of the Day“ seriously, seriously troubles me.

Stunning! That's exactly what b&w photography should be about: Using darkness and light to create epic and iconic imagery. Thank you so much for sharing this!

Here's an update on Sebastian Faena (fairly high resolution).

Gosh! They're so breathtaking. It's like the quintessential summary of this entire thread in one single photo spread.

Oh yes, the whole series is just overwhelming! For those of you with a 1680x1050px desktop and for your convenience ... there's this ... uhm ... derivative work I just ... uhm ... found ...

Well, they told me that the forum was mentioned in the credits, but never bothered to send me a copy so I can't really confirm that.

Haven't really seen an exhibition preview yet, but this looks rather interesting for folks in S.F.: "Oh oh oh Christ!" group show at Femina Potens Art Gallery in San Francisco.

Church unhappy with sexy Virgin Mary fashionA prominent fashion designer has sparked outrage in Chile by dressing up models like the Virgin Mary — in some cases with ample, near-naked breasts.
The Roman Catholic Church condemned Ricardo Oyarzun’s plans for a show featuring the models, and a conservative group tried unsuccessfully to block it in court.
“We look on with special pain and deplore those acts which seek to tarnish manifestations of sincere love towards the Virgin Mary, which end up striking at the dignity of womankind by presenting her as an object of consumption,” Chile’s Episcopal Conference, which includes Catholic bishops, said in a statement. . . . . 'There is no pornography here, there's no sex, there are no virgins menstruating or feeling each other up,' Oyarzun said ahead of the catwalk show set to be held at a Santiago nightclub later on Thursday. 'This is artistic expression.'
