Thank you for the source, Bonnie! I think I saw the bottom one over at Nana's a few months ago. I would never have linked the two together though but I assume the ribcage is just a bad scan.

I think i may possibly nuke my symbiotica tumblr. reason being that i have seen some truly hideous 'symbiotic/vanitas' work knocking about on there and i feel like its all tarnished and wrong now (mainly victorian anatomical lithographs with flowers and butterfly's photoshoped into them). I think If its contained to this thread instead at least i know everything is in a good place.
or maybe i wont, i dont know, im trying to set up this Once thingie at the moment (http://amoredemori.com/blog/2011/03/once/)

Oh, I hadn't realised that the Symbiotica Tumblr was a group tumblr. Maybe just stop accepting submissions and curate it yourself?

I know exactly what you mean about the horrifically puzzled together scrapbook Etsy bullshit that people consider to be symbiotic art these days. Which is why I'm glad you started this thread - it's quickly become my favourite.

Good luck with the ONCE project - the name is brilliant, so brilliant you should launch a perfume one day!  fluff

i have also forgotten the password and email to my tumblr so im just going to pronounce it dead and leave everything here instead as its in far far better hands
'Once' was my favourite word for ages, then it became 'sleep'. if its not obvious once is life and sleep is death (plus they are also one and the same, like different ends of the same line) but your a very clever girl Suzzane so i imagine you figured that out :p

Haha! No, I hadn't figured that out as the perfume industry has brainwashed me into thinking that every 3 to 4 letter word beginning with "O" must be a scent.

But now it of course all makes sense - with Hypnos and Thanatos being twin brothers and all...

Sadly, you can't hotlink Blogspot images to anything else than Blogspot but I c'n'p'ed the URL and she certainly is a very talented girl.

Also, thanks for reminding me of Tomislav Ceranic. I think I first discovered him on 50 Watts which is so totally glorious.

Oh, I do love the bottom one!

I'm afraid I cannot make out the artist's signature on this and TinEye had not much information apart from that it's part of Honkoubou's "Caroll Modernology" that Timeless sells. I cannot believe Honkoubou misspelt Lewis Carroll's surname, but that's a different story altogether...

N.B.:  I just wanted to clarify that I have a massive folder of about 2k images intended for WurzelForum use to go through and post here, but in the meantime, I'll just post new stuff.

This is an Ex Libris by K Shimamura, I presume from the inscription (via).

Just got reminded of Shimamura when I discovered this lovely Ichibun Sugimoto piece on Timeless.

According to Timeless, the artist in question is Itsuko Azuma.
