After careful examination - in the service of science - of Anzilovs complete works of 30 years of photographing nude girls under water, I've come to the conclusion that the female breast has approximately the same mass as the very salt water of the black sea. In other words it is not salt water inside the breast, but salt water surrounding the breast, which causes what we scientists know as the "wonky boobage-effect". It is the same physical phenomenon, that allows the fascinating dialogue between breasts and jellyfish, as seen in the second picture.  |

I love that Tim Walker glittery mermaid tale! Some of my mermaids - I'd like to start taking a crack at this again. I don't think I'll paint on wood again. Something more smooth, and I may buy some acrylic inks.    Kath Parker's mermaids. Hers are a response to Lieselotte Eriksons' mermaids. The model is a friend of mine, Hannah Elvington. With respect to the wonky fake boobage in the Anzilov work, it could well be that the models' breast augmentation was accomplished with saline bags rather than silicon, which would indeed match the specific gravity of the surrounding water. |
